Ellen Anne Beard

Anne" "Annie" Anne Beard, 90, of Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at PinnacleHealth Harrisburg Hospital. The daughter of the late Samuel J and Caroline E Worley, Anne grew up in Harrisburg, PA, and graduated from John Harris High School. She was a member of St Mark's Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, Eastern Star Chapter 146, and Polyclinic Medical Center Auxillary. She was preceded in death by Lloyd W Beard, her husband of 39 years, her brother George B Worley (Leeanna), and her sister Margaret E Finney. Anne was Director of Admissions at Polyclinic Medical Center for over 20 years before retiring in 1983. She loved her job and the people who worked for and with her over the years. Her innate capacity to see the good in everyone, as well as her sense of humor, served her well in her occupation and all aspects of her life. After retiring, she wintered in Florida, took bus trips to numerous locations with her many friends, and spent time with her family. Those who knew Anne will remember her as a kind, intelligent and witty individual, always looking for the silver lining. Anne is survived by her daughter Caroline T and husband Richard C Fick; son Robert J Beard; daughter-in-law Laura J Beard; grandchildren Leslie Fick, Renee Rosenbaum, Jason Beard (Yvonne), Amy Beard; great-grandchildren Danika Brunner and Joshua Beard. The Family would like to thank the staff of Masonic Village E-town for the wonderful care and many kindnesses they extended. Family will receive guests in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg, on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, followed by a service at 11:00 am.
