

Frank Leonard, 75, of Colonial Park, Harrisburg, died March 24, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. Born in Pottsville, PA and raised in Middletown, he was the son of the late Frank H. and Catherine Brennan Leonard. Frank was a graduate of Catholic High, Harrisburg and Villanova University. He worked for Michael Baker Engineering and the Olmsted Air Force Base before beginning a 33-year career with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of General Services, where he retired as a Section Chief
Frank was a longtime member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, active with the “Over-the-Hill Gang” and festival committee. He was a member of the Penn Gardens Lions Club for 40 years and was instrumental in the youth baseball program. Frank also volunteered as a driver for the Lower Paxton Township van service, was a member of the Villanova Wildcat Club and Middletown Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing golf, sports, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marie Teresa (Dominick) Leonard, his three sons, Frank (Linda) of Annandale, Virginia, Thomas (Melissa) of Harrisburg, and Robert (Jennifer) of Harrisburg, his sister Ann Carey of Middletown, five grandchildren, Matthew, Frank, Paul, Catherine, and Allison, two step-grandchildren, Julie and Dale, and one step great-grandchild, Rebekah, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg, a Prayer Service will be held at 8:30pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 2800 Paxton Church Rd., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Margaret Mary Building Fund.
