George E. Miller

Born October 27, 1928 in Harrisburg; he was the son of the late Paul G. and Helen R. (Haldeman) Miller.

He is also preceded in death by his brother, Paul R Miller.

George is survived by his wife of 69 years, Shirley R. (Moore) Miller; two sons, David E. Miller and wife Sally and Barry P. Miller; 5 grandchildren, Richard D. Miller, Joseph A. Miller, Andrew S. Miller, Laurie A. Panther and Brad R. Miller; 6 great-grandchildren, Ava, Adyan, Ethan, and Lucus Miller and Findlay and Everleigh Panther; and a brother, Harry A. Miller and wife Eileen.

He was the owner and operator of the George E. Miller Electric Co.

He was a member of the former 29th Street United Methodist Church, Paxtang Lions Club, Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers, Carlisle Fish and Game Club and the Pioneer Hunting and Fishing Club.

George’s love was hunting and fishing but his greatest passion was skeet shooting. That passion took him all over the country where he won numerous skeet shooting events. He was an 9 time member of the PSSA all state team and in 2008 was inducted into the Pa State Skeet Shooting Assoc Hall of Fame.

We will all miss his loving heart and dry wit.
