Glenn Marvin Mitchell

He was born December 27, 1947 in Harrisburg; he was the son of the late William K. and Gladys (McCleary) Mitchell Sr.; and preceded in death by his brother, Gene Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife of 36 ½ years, Cheryl L. (Hobbs) Mitchell; two daughters, Leshia M. Hatch, her husband, Scott and Devin N. Mitchell; a brother, Rev. William K. Mitchell Jr., his wife, Carolee; 3 grandchildren, Jordan, Logan and Landon; and many nieces and nephews.

Glenn was a retired employee from the Harrisburg Housing Authority, a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a graduate of William Penn High School, class of 1966.

Glenn loved working on classic cars, his favorite a 1967 mustang; loved NASCAR, his all-time favorite driver was Rusty Wallace; and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler's fan.

Funeral Service will be held at 9:00 AM Thursday, June 2, 2016 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the funeral home.
