

Jim retired from the Pa. State Police, with the rank of Captain, after 30 years of service, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW 2, where he served with the Submarine Forces from 1942 to 1948.
He was a member of the Pa. State Troopers Association, the retired State Troopers Association, Keystone Lodge # 41 Fraternal Order of Police, and the Pa. Association of Retired State Employees.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Bernadette (Lazorcik) O’Donnell in 2004; and a granddaughter, Emily Schuster in 2006.
Surviving are three children, Anne Schuster, husband, Robert, of Malvern, Timothy O’Donnell, wife, Maria, of Harrisburg and Joseph O’Donnell, wife, Andrea, of Chester, NJ; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Christine Wall, of Robesonia; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:15 am Friday, March 9, 2012 in St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held 10:00 am Friday at the church till time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, 4800 Union Deposit Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17111.
