Josephine Beers

With grieving hearts, we announce the death of Josephine Beers at the age of 87 of Enola, Pennsylvania. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and entered into heavenly peace on April 6, 2024 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Ortiz Mata and Hilda Mata (Bashore); and her sisters, Arlene, Marion, Virginia, Martha, and Hilda.

She is survived by: her children Dennis Beers, Loretta Soto, Karen Beers, Irene Beers, and Sharon Soto. Eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her companion, Robin Phillips; and her sister, Angeline Fink.

She enjoyed word puzzles and reading; watching her flowers bloom and decorating for the holidays; and loved football and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Josephine's most joy was spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, April 12, 2024, in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St, Harrisburg. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM, Friday, until the time of service at the funeral home.
