

Maria Antonia Fazzolari of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2012 at the home of her loving son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Kelly Fazzolari. She was 91 years old. Maria was born on July 6, 1921, to Giuseppe and Maria Rosa Scali, in Mammola, Reggio Calabria, Italy. She also lived in Rapallo, Liguria, Italy before immigrating to Harrisburg in the summer of 1961.
Maria was a loving mother and grandmother a giving person, and an extraordinary cook. She was always there in a time of need for her children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren and neighbors. Her entire life was devoted to her family and providing assistance to those in need in the community. She always fed the hungry. Maria was an exceptional talent in the kitchen. She will be greatly missed by everyone.
Surviving are her five sons, Vincenzo (Maria) of Camp Hill, Guiseppe (Brenda) and Roberto (Kelly), both of Harrisburg, Nicodemo (Colette) and Salvatore (Karen), both of Mechanicsburg; two daughters, Maria Rosa Belossi (Ferruccio) of Varallo Pombia, Italy and Isabella Ott of Harrisburg; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday, September 14, in the Cathedral Parish of St. Patrick, 212 State Street, Harrisburg. Visitation will be from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM in the church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Swatara Township, where she will join her husband, Antonio in their final resting place.
