Born February 21,1951in Palmerton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Mary M. (Borbe) Negri; and preceded in death by her husband, John R. Bortz; and sister, Mary Tenetylo.
Marjorie is survived by two sons, Robert J. Griffith and his wife Jillian and Jeffrey R. Griffiths; a grandson, Cayden Griffiths; a sister, Sharon Burkhalter and her husband, Almo. She also has many nieces and nephews that she loves.
She was a former employee of Edison Electric Co. a volunteer at the Greater Harrisburg Humane Society and a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church.
Marjorie loved her family, enjoyed gardening, cooking and animals. She loved her many friends and everyone she touched with her great heart and kindness. Her great soul and strength will be with us forever.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 27,2026 at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM Wednesday until the time of the service at the church.
