Born October 20, 1951, in Scranton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Grace (Flannery) Norton.
Survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda (Santoni) Norton; three daughters, Rose Norton, Christina Peddigree (Chris) and Andrea Nelms (Jake); 6 grandchildren, Aidan and Dylan DeMuro, Gavin and Liam Peddigree, Kaeley and Madeline Nelms; and sisters, Sharry Purcell (John) and Lorie Fry (Jesse Hartman).
Pat was a 1969 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School. Upon graduation he entered the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War, where he was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his bravery and devotion to duty. He was a retired Mail Carrier for the U.S. Post Office who valued the importance of hard work, shown by always working a second job painting, pouring concrete or putting on a roof. When not working he enjoyed watching Notre Dame football and drinking Coors Light.
He was an active member of the Rutherford Santoni-Dininni VFW Post 1213, where he served in many roles on the board including Commander, and the Lawnton American Legion Post 998. Pat was a selfless individual that always put the needs of others before himself, especially when it came to Veterans and children.
A visitation will be from 11:00 AM, until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 PM, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg. Burial will be immediately following services at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lebanon VA Medical Center.
