

Richard L. Wilkins, 72, of Middletown passed away Friday, February 3, 2017, at Carolyn Croxton Slane Residence surrounded by family. He was born April 4, 1944, in Johnstown, PA, son of the late Richard W. and Thelma G (Kerr) Wilkins. Surviving him are his wife of 50 years, Sondra (Lazorchak)Wilkins; two daughters, Pamela Wilkins of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, and Paula Wilkins and Mellanie Nai of Madison, Wisconsin; and in laws, Raymond and Sally E. Lazorchak of Maryland, Bernard G. Lazorchak of Florida, and Sally A. Lazorchak of Virginia. Richard was retired from photogrammetry and surveys, Commonwealth of PA. He was a member of 29th Street UM church; a lifetime member of Lower Swatara Township volunteer fire department where he was the fire chief and emergency management director during TMI; Central Penn Fitness; Central Penn Chapter of PA Association of Retired State Employees; and 29th Street UM model railroad club. Richard was extremely interested in HO modeling trains. His love helped him to form the 29th Street UM model railroad club. He loved trains and traveled on many train excursions.
A memorial service will be held 12:00 Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111, with visitation from 11:00 to 12:00 prior to service. A reception will follow at Twenty-Ninth Street UM Church, 750 South 29th Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
