

Robert L Cale, aka “Bob” or “Birdie” (85) of Harrisburg, PA passed away at the VA Hospice in Lebanon, PA on February 16, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents Fletcher Cale and Helen (Mulligan) Cale, brother Walt Cale and sister Amy Cale.
Bob was born in Harrisburg, PA on February 1, 1929. He graduated from William Penn High School in 1947 and Bliss Electrical School in 1949. He served in the Army for 2 years during the Korean War and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He became an electrician (IBEW 143) and was employed by Heim Electric for 33 years before retiring in 1991.
He will be remembered as an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan. He also enjoyed golf and following his grandsons’ sports activities.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Phyllis Jean (Ney) Cale, son Kenneth Cale (wife Arlene) of Suffern, NY, daughters Lynn Barr and Shari Cale of Harrisburg; 4 brothers William, Donald, Emerson, David and a sister Carrie; 4 grandsons Ryan, Daniel, Michael and Stephen; and 1 great granddaughter Ellie Jean.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Susquehanna Valley Evangelical Free Church 6433 Union Deposit Road Harrisburg, PA 17111 with lunch to follow
