Born April 20, 1925 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Harry C. and Cora (Beers) Johnston, and preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Morrow) Johnston; brothers, Edward, Roy and John Richard Johnston; and sisters, Virginia Hummel and Betty Pike.
He was a life time member of St. Margaret Mary Alocoque Catholic Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of WW2.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Nancy Dolan, (Mike), of Richmond, VA, and Patti Johnston Ashenfelder, of Harrisburg; 3 grandchildren, Michael Dolan, Scott Dolan, (Melissa), and Maria Ashenfelder; 2 great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Stanley E. Johnston, of Mechanicsburg and Thomas R. Johnston, of Piketown.
Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated 10:00 AM Monday, April 16, 2012, in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 2800 Paxton Church Rd., Harrisburg. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Resurrection Cemetery.
