Robert D. Parker, known as "Bobby Parker" of Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal bliss on Monday, August 2, 2021, peacefully at his home. He was born in Brownsville, AL. He was a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army specializing in Heavy Weapons Artillery. Known to his family as, R.D.P., he was a very loving husband to his wife Susan Parker and his companion, Brenda Bittner. He is preceded in eternal life by his mother Mary Parker, two sisters, Ruth Cunningham and Ira Jean Foster. He is also proceeded by his two sons, Del Thompson and Robert D. Parker Jr. He is survived by three sons, Mark Thompson, Kenny Thompson and Robert D. Parker III; seven daughters, Nikki Parker Morgan, Angela Parker, Donna Parker, Regina Baltimore, Robyn Parker, Randi Parker and Raegan Parker; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, as well as his unadopted daughter, Nicole Russel; amongst several other family members and friends. Robert was not only a soldier in the U.S. Army, but also a true life warrior. He had an enormous sense of humor and left a remarkable impression on everyone that was blessed to meet him. He was very much loved and adored by his family and friends. Memorial Services will be held on Monday August 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg, PA. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
