Bob was a teacher for most of professional life – an ardent supporter of life-long learning – developing specialties in Management Information Systems, Auditing, and Financial Accounting. He taught at the University of Illinois before moving to the accounting firm Price Waterhouse & Co. in New York City in 1964. Von Minden Professor of Accounting at Rutgers.
Bob co-authored two books; “Computer Oriented Financial Information Systems (1984),” with Dr. Jas. B. Bower and Dr. Maurice S. Newman; and “Career Success Through User Orientation (1982),” with J. P. Gatton. He served on the Board of Governors at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center and at Solaris Health Systems where he was Chairman.
Among the accomplishments that Bob was most proud of was being a member of the Knights of Columbus for more than 50 years. He enjoyed watching sports on TV, particularly Notre Dame football and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He also loved to travel. He was quick to laugh and share a joke and had an unwavering enthusiasm for whatever adventure any of his children or grandchildren undertook.
