He was born June 14, 1930 in Hummelstown, PA, he was the son of the late Dominick and Mary (Zimmerman) Traino; and preceded in death by his son, Jeffery J. Traino.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Traino; 4 sons, James R., Gerald T., John P. and Robert S. Traino; a daughter, Janice M. Hocker, all of Harrisburg; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers, John Traino, of Oberlin and Thomas Traino, of York.
Robert was a retired electrician for Conrail, with 45 years of service, also a self-employed electrician, U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service Wednesday at the church.
