

He was born March 7, 1938 in Harrisburg to the late Clarence and Nellie Miller. He was a graduate of John Harris High School, after high school he enlisted in the US Navy and served aboard on the USS Mauna Loa, and the USS Lake Champlain CVS 39. He was a retired employee of the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. where he worked in the electrical dept.
Family was very important to him. He is survived by his wife Jacquelyn "Jackie" of 45 years. He is also survived by two brothers, Clarence "Skip" and wife, Lucy, of Linglestown and Larry and wife, Joan, of Middletown, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He loved hunting and fishing, was an avid Penn State football fan and he and his wife Jackie had a summer place on Bashore Island near Goldsboro for 43 years. Russ and Jackie spent their winters at their home on Pine Island, Fl.
He was a dedicated member and officer of the Penn Harris Gun Club, where he loved spending a lot of his time. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion Post 426.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Russie's life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Penn Harris Gun Club, 129 Richardson Rd., Middletown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area Inc., 7790 Grayson Rd., Harrisburg, 17111.
