Walter Simpson

Walter Simpson, 96, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away November 11, 2021.Born in Altoona, PA, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary Simpson. Walter proudly served in the United States Navy as a Tail Gunner on a B24 in WWII, and was married to Kathleen Shelley for 68 1/2 yrs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, his wife Kathleen, three sons, Joe, Sam, and Jon, and his grandson, Ryan. He was known to new friends as "Wally" and to old friends as "Shiner." He is survived by two sons, Jim of La Mesa, CA, and Jeff of New Cumberland; four daughters-in-law, Wendy, Sherry, Sharon, and Jane, seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a countless number of friends. A Memorial Service will be held at the Camp Hill United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to your favorite charity.
