Wayne Earl Woods

He was born November 11, 1931 at Linglestown, PA.; he was the son of the late Willard and Elizabeth (Snavely) Woods.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary A. (Barr) Woods; his daughter, Carol (Woods) Garman, wife of Lorne, of Dauphin; his son, Thomas Wayne Woods, husband of Pamela, of Etters; 5 grandchildren, Sarah Strauser, Andy Garman, Zachary Woods, Jonathan Woods and Emily Woods; 2 great-grandchildren, Ender Strauser and Makayla Strauser; a brother, Willard Woods, husband of Joan, of Harrisburg; a sister, Dorothy Woods, of Hershey; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Woods; and 3 sisters, Betty Eubank, Frances Smith and Doris Russell.

He was a retired supervisor for the former Bell Telephone Co., a US Army veteran of the Korean War, and a graduate of John Harris High School, class of 1949.

He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Central PA Airstream Club, Bell Telephone Pioneers, and the Church Dart Ball League.

Wayne loved woodworking, golfing, traveling the US and Canada, gardening, and reading. He was a gentle and thoughtful man, had a great sense of humor, and loved spending time with his family.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 4700 Locust Lane, Harrisburg. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
