William W. Ward Jr.

It is with deep sadness the family announces the death of William W. Ward, Jr., 69,loving husband of Mary (Haffly) of Hummelstown, PA. Bill was born on June 13, 1944 to Annice and William W. Ward Sr. of Harrisburg, PA.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his mother Annice, daughters; Beth Ward of Harrisburg and Monette Benkowitsch, wife of Adam of Harrisburg, and a grandson TJ Douville, of Hummelstown.

He is also survived by his sister, Debra Shepler, wife of Scott of Harrisburg and brother Rodney Ward, husband of Cindy of Berlin Maryland.

Bill was employed by American Steel and Aluminum for more than 50 years. He was a long time member of Colonial Country Club. He enjoyed the outdoors as a fisherman, golfer and horseracing fan and owner and especially liked getting his picture taken in the winners circle. He was an avid fan of Penn State football and the Washington Redskins. He was also a season ticket holder of the Harrisburg Senators. Bill loved spending time with his family at home and on the annual vacation to the beach.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg, with a visitation starting at 10:00 AM.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the charity of your choice.
