A daughter of the late Walter and Helen Foltz Armentrout, she was born on February 16, 1928 in Harrisonburg.
She graduated from Broadway High School and retired from Bank of America where she was an executive secretary.
She was a lifetime member of Muhlenberg Lutheran Church, a member of Spotswood Country Club, Farmington Country Club and Keswick Country Club. Audrey was an avid antique collector, specializing in antique jewelry and loved playing piano. She loved her family and was an excellent homemaker. She also loved the holidays and loved to prepare large family meals and will be remembered for her beloved "cookie room."
On August 30, 1947 she married Edwin “Sam” Moore Cook, who preceded her in death on December 3, 2020.
Surviving are two sons, Gary Edward Cook & wife Rosemary Paige Cook of Falls Church, VA, and Todd E. Cook & wife Wanda E. Cook of Staunton, VA; three granddaughters, Amy Cook Hogan & husband Jeff, Jessica Roberts Eason & husband Dennis and Ashley Marie Cook; seven great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren and a niece, Cynthia Armentrout Pierce. She also was preceded in death by her daughter Victoria (Vickie) Roberts, and two brothers, Walter Armentrout, Jr. and Gene Armentrout.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 2:00 pm. at Muhlenberg Lutheran Church with Pastor Alex Zuber officiating. Burial will follow in Woodbine Cemetery.
A light reception for family and friends will take place at Muhlenberg Lutheran Church following the burial.
