Elaine Schreiber

Elaine Schreiber, 70, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Friday evening, January 12, 2018 after a protracted illness. She was born on November 10, 1947 in Bronx, NY and was the daughter of the late Bernard and Rhoda Paroly. Elaine moved to Hamden, CT, with her husband, Eugene, who went to pursue a business opportunity; they lived in that area for forty years. After her husband’s retirement in 2012 they moved to the Harrisonburg area and have resided here for the last six years. She was a member of the Beth El Temple Sisterhood. She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Eugene Schreiber; a daughter, Julie Jenkins and husband, Thomas, of Harrisonburg; a son, Ben Schreiber and wife, Susan Miller of Colchester, CT; five grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, Carter, Meghan and Tessa; a sister, Bette Kozak, of New Haven, CT; and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 10:30 am, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Beth El Cemetery on Old Furnace Road in Harrisonburg with Rabbi Joe Blair officiating. The family will be sitting Shiva Wednesday afternoon at 375 East Wolfe St., Harrisonburg. A special thanks from the family for the warmth and understanding of the Sentara Hospice Staff.
