He was born on August 15, 1964, in Harrisonburg and is the son of Doris L. Leo, of Staunton and the late James T. Rogers.
Jimmy lived in the Harrisonburg area his whole life and was of the Catholic faith. He loved to write country music songs, chocolate and was very supportive of the US Marine Corp.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Angela Lawson (Jerry) of Elkton; a special niece and who was also his guardian, Dascha Sellers Whitmore, and her son, Caleb of Hinton, nieces, Elizabeth Guillen (Luis) of Winchester and Hannah Shifflett (Ethan) of Roanoke.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Ark Leo.
The family will receive friends 12:30-1:30 pm, Friday, December 12, 2025, at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 12, 2025, in the Mausoleum at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Gail Heiston officiating, a childhood family friend.
