He attended school, lived and worked in Texas until the late 90’s. His career carried him throughout the United States and even overseas. During his travels, he met his life partner, Mahassen, and her four children in Central Pennsylvania. Years later Mahassen relocated to McGaheysville, Virginia and Kim retired there also.
Kim was living a retirement life, by spevfcnding time in the outdoors, cooking, camping, and entertaining family, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Danielle Cooper.
He leaves behind his spouse, Mamie Cooper (separated); life partner Mahassen “Mo” Brunson; son, Kimpton “Matt” Cooper; grandson, Ethan Cooper, stepmother, Mammie R. Cooper, three brothers, Tim Cooper (Faye), Lennard Johnson (Robbie), and Bob C. Johnson (Regina); one sister, Patricia Williams, seven Stepbrothers, J.C. Cooper, Demetrice Cooper, Terence Cooper, Joe Keith Cooper, Derrick Cooper, Patrick Cooper, Joseph Cooper; three stepsisters, Sharonda Cooper, Ola Milton McDonald and Gloria Swain; six aunts, Annetta Brooks Seastrunk, Margie Brooks, Johnnie Lee Hadnot, Earline Brooks and Dorothy Lee Armstrong; four uncles, Jessie Brooks, James Cooper, Charles Cooper and Curtis Cooper; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and other close family members.
As per his wishes, Kim was cremated, and his ashes will be returned to the State of Texas. He will back home with family, friends, and where his life began. Thank You for contributing to his best life. He shall be missed.
A memorial service will be held 11 AM, Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Pastor Wayne Wright officiating.
A dinner will be held at 1 PM, following the service, at Wood Grill Banquet Room, 1711 Reservoir St., Harrisonburg, VA.
