Nancy Louvenia Thompson

She was born in Daphna, VA, and was the daughter of the late Roy H. and Ida Belle Webster Spitzer.

Nancy graduated from Harrisonburg High School in 1947 and was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church. She lived in Harrisonburg most of her life and worked at Joseph Neys. She moved to Richmond and worked for Montaldo’s before retiring. She returned to Harrisonburg and for the last 5 years she lived in Mathias, WV and was under the care of Mr. Willard Shirkey, III.

On July 2, 1955 she married Richard Thompson, who preceded her in death on June 9, 1974.

She is survived by her sisters, Halcie Fisheack and husband, Arnold, Anna Snyder, Fay Caricofe and husband, Ray and Myra Spitzer; numerous nieces and nephews; former in-laws, special friend, Sue Thompson; and caregivers, Margaret Dean and Maxine Charlton.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm, Wednesday, February 4, 2015, in the mausoleum at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Adam Blagg officiating. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Otterbein UMC or a charity of choice.
