Rita Gordon Reilly

She was born on March 21, 1928 in Grottoes and was the daughter of the late William and Sarah Murphy Gordon.

Rita was a lifelong resident of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County and graduated from Weyers Cave High School and Rockingham Memorial School of Nursing; she was employed at Rockingham Memorial Hospital and several area nursing homes. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a former member of the Harrisonburg Rockingham Choral Society.

Her husband Vincent D. Reilly, preceded her in death on July 16, 1962.

She is survived by a son, Michael Reilly of Harrisonburg and a son, Kevin Reilly and wife, Terry, of Bel Air, MD; a sister, Miriam Symonds of Ft. Wayne, IN; a sister-in-law, Aileen Regina Reilly of Harrisonburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A mass will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Silvio Kaberia officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. She will be cremated and burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery.
