Robert "Bob" G. Johnson

He was born on January 23, 1942 in Knoxville, TN and was the son of the late Walter B. and Juanita Hinchey Johnson.

He worked at a printing company in Maryland before moving to Bridgewater in 1976. “BJ” then began a long career at Animal Health and Specialties, first in the warehouse then as a salesman until his retirement.

Bob never met a stranger. He had many friends in the West Rockingham Ruritan Club where he had 31 years of perfect attendance. He enjoyed all sports and was an avid bowler up until his death.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Margaret “Peggy” Martin Johnson; his children, whom he loved dearly, Robert R. Johnson (Janet), Richard R. Johnson (Susan), Barbara L. Conner (Bruce) and Tracy L. Johnson (Mike) who gave him nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his brother, Richard E. Johnson and his sisters, Carol Zimmerman (Gary) and Cathy Brewer (Buzzy); he also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday, January 25, 2019 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the funeral home with Gerald Harper officiating. Private burial will be held earlier in the day at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
