

A son of Genevieve Winegard Conley of Harrisonburg and the late Otis Luther Winegard, he was born on February 14, 1959 in Harrisonburg. He graduated from Broadway High School and Massanutten Technical Center.
Steve was a school bus mechanic working for Rockingham County Public Schools for the past 18 years and was working part time for JL Fabrication Towing and Penn Laird Towing. He also formerly owned “Steve’s Towing”.
He was a member of Mt. Sinai U.M.C., now Vision of Hope United Methodist Church, former member of National Rifle Association, and was a HAM Radio Operator “N4WVY”.
Along with his mother, he is survived by sons, Ben Winegard and his wife, Jennifer, of Bridgewater, and Kenneth High Jr. of Timberville; daughters, Laura Winegard of Singers Glen and Christie High of Harrisonburg; partner, Dianne High Winegard of Harrisonburg; grandchildren; Brandon Winegard, Hannah Petrillo, Amy Winegard, Cameron Hummel, Adriana High, and Brooklyn High; sister, Sharon Pierson of Fernley, NV; brother, Stacey Winegard of Harrisonburg and his beloved dog, “Angel”.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm at Vision of Hope U.M.C. with Rev. David Burch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Saturday at the church prior to the funeral.
