

He was a native and longtime resident of Richmond, VA and lived in Harrisonburg, VA at the Sunnyside Retirement Community for the last 11 years. A proud WWII veteran, his work career was spent as a supervisor of chemical research at The American Tobacco Company.
He was preceded in death by Anabel Burton, his wife of 56 years.
He is survived by his son, Ray Burton and daughters Ellen Bumgardner (Gene), Julie Beaton (Bill) and 7 grandchildren.
He was a lifelong Methodist and sang in the choir at Bon Air United Methodist Church in Richmond where he was a member for more than 40 years.
Willard was an avid rose gardener and one of his joys was sharing his roses with friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sunnyside Retirement Communities Fellowship Fund, 600L University Blvd, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
Interment will be at Westhampton Memorial Park in Richmond, VA on Friday October 10, at 11 AM.
A memorial service will be held at the Chapel at Sunnyside in Harrisonburg, VA on Saturday, October 11, at 1 PM.
