
William Franklin Haliburton III, 62, a resident of Harrisonburg, died Friday morning, Feb. 25, 2011, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. He fought a courageous battle with cancer.
A son of the late William F. Haliburton Sr. and Ollie Taylor Haliburton, he was born on Jan. 21, 1949, in Staunton, where he lived his early life. He had made his home in Harrisonburg for 20 years. He attended Booker T. Washington and New York State College. Mr. Haliburton was a disabled Vietnam veteran and a member of the Rion-Bowman VFW Post No. 632. He was also an Auto Club member of stock cars and trucks and the Aletheia Church.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Haliburton; nine children, Anita, Rita, Chris, Robert, Omar, Siheim, Taja, Conja, and J.R.; three brothers, George, Charles and Tom; one sister, Diane; and 16 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, ShaFree; one brother, James, and one sister, Rosa.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2011, in the Ames Cemetery at Bridgewater with Pastor Paul Fiske officiating.
The Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
