William Henry (Bill) Liddle Jr.

A son of the late William H. (Sr.) and Claire Skidmore Liddle, he was born on June 4, 1947 in Pottsville, PA. He graduated from Harrisonburg High School in 1965 receiving the Daily News Record Leadership Award; and Madison College in 1969. Bill later lived in the Tidewater area, then moved to the Port Republic community in 1977.

Music was an integral part of Bill’s life and he shared that passion through teaching music to hundreds of students from elementary age to post graduate. He was a member of Phi Mu Alpha, a Professional Men’s Music Fraternity where he had served as the Chapter President; and was active in the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

He is survived by Louise E. Scolamiero Liddle whom he married in 1976. Also surviving is a daughter, Rebecca Cisek and husband, Ryan, of Baltimore, MD; two sons, William H. Liddle, III and fiancee’, Diana Castillo, of Alexandria, VA and Tony and wife, Shelley, Liddle of Elkton; two grandchildren, Derek and Carly Liddle. He is also survived by a brother, Daniel Liddle, two sisters, Claire Gutshall and William Rodriguez and Carol Liddle and Atville Lear, all of Harrisonburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends tonight (Monday) from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday evening, July 16, 2013, at 7:00 pm at the Chapel of Lindsey Funeral Home.
