Woody was born on October 10, 1945 in Hyattsville, Md. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and was involved in the local construction industry for nearly 30 years, the PTA, Boy Scouts and pursued a passion for biking on the regional rails-to-trails system. These associations have formed the basis for some of the family’s dearest friendships over the years.
With a kind smile and a gentle heart, Woody could always evoke laughter from those around him. He carried a love for his children beyond words, and pride in their successes. Battling cancer for a little over a year, brought many tears of joy and sorrow. Woody’s family was left with the truth that no matter what battle is being fought, love does in fact, conquer all.
A special thanks to sister-in-law Linda Sprinkel and husband Jim for all their help and loving support.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19 at Plains Elementary School in Timberville at 11:30am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to RMH Cancer Center.
