

She was born in Rockingham County on June 17, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Wade and Pearl E. (Runion) Runion.
Zelda lived all her life in Mt. Clinton. She was employed with IMCO Containers for a number of years and was also a homemaker. She was a member of Mt Clinton Church of God.
On October 2, 1954 she married John B. Custer, Jr. who preceded her in death on May 2, 1980.
She is survived by a son, John B. Custer, III, of Dayton, two daughters, Susan Butzler and husband, John of Grottoes, Sharon K. Ritchie and husband, Bob, of New Market; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Walter Runion of Timberville; three sisters, Victorene Custer of New Market, Lilly Crider of Bridgewater, and Velma Knight of Harrisonburg.
She was also preceded in death by a great-grandson; a sister, Naomi Emswiler; and brothers, Kenneth, Laney, Otis, Wade Jr., and Mervin Runion.
A private graveside service will be held at Weavers Mennonite Cemetery.
