

Geneva Jewell Sandifer Burchette, age 94 of Cumberland Gap, Tennessee, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Middlesboro Rehabilitation Center and Nursing Home. She was born September 30, 1920 to the late Hobart and Nellie Ayers Sandifer in Harrogate, Tennessee. She was a longtime, loyal member of the First Baptist Church of Cumberland Gap.
Geneva spent many years working at Lincoln Memorial University and was a gifted seamstress who also possessed a “green thumb” as an active gardener. She was a devoted and proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had many friends and neighbors whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, Geneva is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Burchette; sister, Clara Mae; an infant brother who died at birth.
She is survived by sons: Gary Burchett and wife, Frances;
Randy Burchett and wife, Brenda
Grandchildren: Nicole Saylor, Shannon Schieder and husband, Billy; Beth Thompson and husband, Todd
Five great Grandchildren: Ellen Nicole Cawood, Sidney Schieder, Madelyn Schieder, Grant Thompson and Avery Thompson
Several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 P.M. Thursday May 28, 2015 at Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate with funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. Thursday night in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service at 11:00 A.M. Friday in the Harrogate Cemetery.
