John Alvis Hunter

Mr. John Alvis Hunter age 72 of Speedwell was born June 16, 1940 passed away on August 31, 2012 at the Claiborne County Hospital after a brief battle with cancer . He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. He was retired from Middlesboro Tanning Company. He was preceded In death by his parents ; Jessie and Clara Effie Gibson Hunter; brothers Jeff, Verlin and Joe Hunter; sisters Hester Massengill and Lucille Hunter.

He is survived by lifetime companion Maxine Taylor of speedwell, TN

Sisters: sally Mae Hunter of Tazewell, TN

Maggie Russell of Harrogate, TN

Beatrice Davis of Michigan

And Twin brother: George Hunter of Speedwell

and a host of other nieces and nephews , relatives and friends

The family will receive friends Sunday September 2,2012 from 5-7pm at the Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate with the funeral service to follow at 7:00pm , Graveside service will be Monday September 3, 2012 in the Miracle cemetery at 10:00 A.M.
