Martha Alice Robertson

She was born on November 13, 1927. She graduated from Powell Valley High School. Martha was married to Lawrence “Cotton” Robertson on September 2, 1945; they have been married for 70 years. She was a faithful member of Haynes Flat Baptist Church in Speedwell, Tennessee.

Martha worked at the United states Postal Service as the Post Master for the Speedwell branch. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and cooking for family . She was also actively involved in the local Republican Party and the Restoration of the Historic Speedwell Academy.

Martha is survived by her husband , Lawrence “Cotton” Robertson; her children Judith Husky Balkcom(husband, Rich) and Dennis Michael Robertson(wife JeanAnn);Grandchildren Tyler Craig Huskey(wife, Rachel), Allison Robertson Delashmit(husband, Drew), and Dr. John Michael Robertson(wife Amber) . Great Grandchildren Jack, William, and Craig Huskey and Kellen, Charles, and Mason Delashmit. Brother Paul Proffitt(wife , Nancy);Nieces Joni Proffitt and susan Profitt Meiser(husband , Steve)and their children Kelly Flege Thobe( husband, Mike), Jessica Flege Lusk (husband , Brad)Jeremy Meiser, Kate Meiser, and Ellie Meiser. And grandnephews Noah and Jake Lusk, and Quincey , Natalie, and Zane Thobe, Nephew Jeff Proffitt (wife, Teresa) and their child Morgan; Sister-in-law Alice (Robertson) Overton(husband, Leroy) . Niece Judy Robertson and Nephew Craig Robertson (wife, Sherri). Grandnieces and nephews Adam Robertson((wife Cindi)Emily King(husband John) Erica Robertson Matthew Robertson(wife Jennifer) Aaron Robertson (wife Candice), Dakota Robertson (wife Lauren) and Amy Jo Goodin, Great Grandnieces and nephews Olivia Robertson, Noah Robertson , Riley King , Halle King, John David Heck, Isaac Heck, Lucas Heck, Matthew Robertson, Jr and James Oscar Robertson. Martha is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Leotta (Dot)Proffitt

Funeral service will be held at Haynes Flat Baptist Church Wednesday August 17 at 8pm, preceded by visitation from 6-8pm with pastor Travis Dunn officiating

Interment will be in the Robertson Family Cemetery at Speedwell Thursday august 18th at 10:00am. Pallbearers will be DR. John Michael Robertson, Tyler Huskey, Drew Delashmit, Craig Robertson, Adam Robertson, and Matthew Robertson.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the speedwell academy or Haynes Flat Baptist Church. The family of Martha Alice Robertson Wishes to thank Terry Killion and Libby Harmon for her in home care and comfort.
