

Alice Jessie Snellgrove
Bossier City - Memorial services celebrating the life of Alice Snellgrove (Homemaker and Child Care Provider) will be held at 6:30pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at All Saints Anglican REC Church, 9051 Youree Drive, Shreveport, La. Father Tony Welty will officiate. The family will be greeting friends from 6pm til 6:30pm.
Alice has asked that her ashes be scattered near Shaftesbury, Dorset, England.
Alice was born on January 30, 1935 in Shaftesbury, Dorset, England. She met the love of her life, Charlie, an American airman, while working at a small café in England. She also worked at Windsor Castle cooking for the Queens choirboys. She loved her country!!! They moved to the United States after they were married and raised their family.
She passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 25, 2026 at home in Bossier City, LA. She was a faithful Christian woman who was baptized as a child and confirmed in the Anglican church and lived her life in the service of others above herself. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always put family first, making several trips to visit her family in England.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Snellgrove; her father, Edward Lawrence Havlok Brooks and her mother, Alice Jessie Souter Brooks; three sisters, and two brothers in England.
Alice is survived by sons, Charles Snellgrove and wife Lesia, Mark Snellgrove and wife Delene (Dee), Ian Snellgrove and wife Tammy; and daughter, Mary Humphries and husband Kin; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; and the many children she cared for, a few of which along with their parents, she remained in contact.
