Alma June Butler O’Keefe, 88, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018, at the Guest House Nursing Center following a long battle with Alzheimers. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Dr. Howard Hall, Pastor of Shreveport Baptist Temple officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
June was born on December 22, 1929, in Bodcaw, AR to Clifton Butler, Sr. and Merle Spencer Butler. She was a 1948 graduate of Bodcaw High School. After moving to Shreveport in 1950, she was employed as an operator for Southern Bell Telephone Company for 15 years. June had a great love for dolls that she collected and was a member of the River Rouge Doll Club. She was a faithful charter member of Shreveport Baptist Temple.
June was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Charles O’Keefe, Sr. and four brothers, Wayne, Lindell, Jimmy and Jack Butler.
She is survived by two sons, Charles “Bubba” O’Keefe, Jr. and Larry Joe O’Keefe; grandchildren, Magen O’Keefe Krutilek and husband Stanley, Michael O’Keefe, Eric O’Keefe and wife Courtney; great-grandchildren, Kali O’Keefe and Jacob Krutilek; brothers, Clifton Butler, Jr. and Mack Butler; and sister, Elizabeth Butler Kruithof.
