Alvin Ray Benner

HAUGHTON, LA – A memorial service to celebrate the life of Alvin Benner, 73, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Open Door Bible Church with Pastor Gary Weaber officiating. Visitation will be held at Open Door Bible Church on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Alvin was born on February 28, 1943 and went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2017. Alvin was a member of Open Door Bible Church. He served in the Air Force for 30 Years, and was a civil servant for 22 years. Alvin was a devoted husband and a loving father.

He was preceded in death by his second wife, Shirley Benner; third wife, Robin Benner; mother Mae Fisher; and brother, Ronald Fisher.

He is survived by his children, Patti Proctor, James Johnson, Teri Johnson, Matt Etter, Beth Schwamle, Nate Benner, Chet Benner and wife Carly Benner; father, Robert C. Fisher; brother, Robert "Jake" Fisher; sister, Shirley M. Baxter; and many nieces & nephews.
