He is preceded in death by his parents, Milton W. Buie and Ida Hilburn Buie; brother, Rev. A. W. Buie; and sisters, Maxie Frake and Faye Teekell.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife; daughters; Rhonda Bedgood and husband Gary, Kim Howell and husband Edward. He was an awesome “Pappaw” to his pride and joy of four grandchildren, Josh (Jessi), Dani (Trey), Jake and Michaela (Charles); and 6 great grands, Journie, Alex, Jase, Charlie, Owen and Rett.
After serving in the army during the Korean War, he worked for DOTD for over 30 years and then retired a second time with 20 years with an engineering firm.
To all that knew him, he had a generous heart and would stop whatever he was doing to help someone. He was a chartered member and elder at Faith Community Church and loved volunteering and working for the Lord.
Archie was known for his love of his favorite football team, the LSU tigers. Win or lose he remained a devoted fan.
We will be celebrating his life at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, Louisiana under the direction of Rev. David Wedlund. Visitation will be Monday, February 6, 2023, at 10:00 am with an 11:00 am service following. Interment will be in Hill Crest Memorial Park.
