

SHREVEPORT, LA – Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Betty Jean Moore Wilson, 84, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2013, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. John Harp of Brookwood Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Wednesday evening between the hours of 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Betty was born on June 20, 1929, in Texarkana, AR and passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014. She met and married the love of her life at the young age of seventeen and spent the next 67 years loving and taking care of her family. Betty loved her children equally but each in a very special way. She enjoyed baking desserts and would always bake each one’s favorite. Not only did Betty love her husband and children, she also had a soft spot for animals, especially her pets. Betty’s first job outside the home was as a manager at United Shoe Store. On June 20, 1989, Betty retired from Hibernia National Bank, formally LA Bank and Trust, where she had been employed throughout the years as a bank teller.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, William David and Etta May (Coleman) Moore; brothers, Patrick Hilland, Thomas Albert Hilland, and James Arthur Hilland; two sons, Billy David Wilson and Robert Alan Wilson; and her beloved dog, Smokey. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Billy M. Wilson; sons, Terrell Wayne Wilson and wife Shelley, and Thomas Michael Wilson and companion, Sherry Wilson; daughters, Susan Wilson Chapman and husband Billy, and Karen Wilson Bison and husband Bubba; sister, JoAnn Porier and husband Kenneth; grandchildren, Robert Chapman, Ryan Chapman, Andi Lea Wilson Johnson, Lori Wilson Bertolet, David Wilson, Katherine Wilson, Heather Whatley, Joshua Evans, and David Bison; and six great-grandchildren, Evan, Ethan, and Evangeline Whatley, Elijah Hicks, Hannah Bison, and Collin Wayne Chapman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Mrs. Wilson as pallbearers are David Wilson, Rob Chapman, Ryan Chapman, James Louis Hilland, David Bison, and Josh Evans.
