Billy was born on Friday, August 15, 1941 to Ruben and Macie Cleckler, In Clanton, AL.
Mr. Cleckler served 20 years in the United States Air Force. In his younger days, he enjoyed riding dirt bikes and motocross, and he loved fishing, and shooting pool. Also, he owned a motorcycle shop, [B&G Cycle, and a gift shop[Candie K's] in Haughton, LA, and Bill's wholesale store, and the Satellitte in Bossier City, LA. He was a member of the American Legion Koran, Post 388 in Haughton, as well as the VFW Post 4588, in Bossier City, and the Air Force Sergeant’s Association.
Preceding Mr. Cleckler in death are: father Ruben Cleckler; mother, Macie Scarborough Cleckler; sisters: Ruby Atkinson, Wanda Hudson; and son Billy J. Cleckler, Jr.
Left to cherish his memory are: his wife of 58 years, Gloria Gendron Cleckler; daughter, Christina Grosjean and husband, Bryan; grandchildren: Candace Keck, Brandon Keck, Colter Grosjean; great grandchildren: Tyler McKinney, Raelyn Keck; sister, Norma Jean Smitherman; brother, Bobby Cleckler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Memorial service, honoring the life of Mr. Cleckler, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 11, 2019, in section 22, at Hill Crest Memorial Park, Haughton, LA, with Full Military Honors.
