Bobby Mize

BOSSIER CITY, LA – Services celebrating the life of Bobby Mize will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Brother David McCormick officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with full military honors.

Bobby was born on May 24, 1934 in Coal City, Alabama to Jessie Mize and Olivia Croft. He passed away on April 11, 2015 at his home in Bossier City, LA. He joined the U.S. Air Force after high school and served for over twenty years. Bobby loved to fish, go to the wellness center and travel with his wife. He was a faithful member of Heritage Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lloyd Mize and William Croft and sister Sybil James. Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Gloria J. Mize, daughters Susan Hohman and husband Christopher of Ponchatoula, LA, Rhonda Roton and husband Danny of Haughton, LA and Bobbie Jo Garland of Magnolia, AR, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and one brother Al Mize and wife Shirley of Birmingham, Alabama.

Pallbearers will be Matt Culverhouse, Paul Boyle, Joey Woods, Karl Woods, Dwayne Culverhouse and Will Sapp. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Roton, Jacob Roton, Micah Garland, Noah Garland, Jeremy Culverhouse and Damon Gladney.

The family would like to thank Gamble Hospice; Barbara and Terri, and Dr. Jimmy Smith and Dr. San Pedro and staff for the comfort and care they received.
