Claire B. Covington

Services to celebrate the life of Claire Covington will begin with a Visitation between 9:00 am – 10:00 am, followed by a Memorial Service at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, Haughton, LA, with Pastor Steve Gilley presiding.

Claire was born on June 10, 1931 in Meridian, MS. She passed away in Shreveport, LA on January 27, 2024 at the age of 92.

Claire worked 40 plus years as a Customer Service Representative in the Insurance Industry for many different companies. For the last 10 years of her life she worked with her son and grandsons in the restaurant business at Johnny’s Catfish in Shreveport, LA.

Claire was an avid Bridge player and she loved the competitive nature of the game. She did not, like to lose. She attained the level of Life Master in her late 50’s or early 60’s. She still enjoyed playing and directing games at the Shreveport Bridge House.

Claire was preceded in death by her mother, Celeste Anderson. She is survived by her son, Bobby Covington and wife Ruby. She is also survived by three grandsons, Rory Covington and Tracy, Tulley Covington, and Barry Covington; two great grandsons, Bryce Taylor and Katie, and Declan Covington.
