Clara Cottingham

Clara Yvonne Cottingham, age 84, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana. Clara was born August 20, 1941 in Salisbury, North Carolina to Mitchell and Jane Susanna Basinger.

A loving homemaker, Clara delighted in her garden and flowers, cherished time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and found simple pleasures in puzzles and dining out at buffets.

Clara is survived by her sister, Diane McCrimmon; daughter, Susan Renay Cottingham; grandson, Brandon Scott Addis; great granddaughter, Hailey Laryra Addis; granddaughters, Tanya Scripture and husband Kyle and Teri-Lynn Cottingham and husband Sean Adamson and their children; great granddaughter, Crystal Adamson, and great grandsons, Caiden and Connor Adamson and Matthew and Logan Scripture.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Cottingham; parents Mitchell and Jane Susanna Basinger; brothers, Bob Basinger, Norman Basinger, Delane Basinger, Paul Basinger; sisters, Helen Ray (Dooble) Veach, Marie Hartman; sons, Randy Wayne Cottingham and Kevin Lee Cottingham.
