Curry was born on August 17, 1929 to Modestine and Joseph “Lester” Couvillon in Moreauville, Louisiana.
Curry joined the Army at a young age and made it his career for 26 years. He was in the Korean War, the Vietnam War and stationed at many bases in the USA and Europe. After retiring from the service he continued to work first for ATT/Western Electric for 20 years and also as a carpenter, roofer and painter. He loved woodworking and made many items his family and friends will cherish. Curry was a kind, energetic industrious man with a spirited humor. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend to everyone. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and loving wife of 53 years, Thelma Couvillon and two brothers, Allen Sellers and Joseph “Rolle” Couvillon. He is survived by his three daughters, Cathy Couvillon of Bossier City, LA, Angela Couvillon Mire and husband Cleveland Mire of Shreveport, LA and Rebecca Couvillon of Princeton, LA and grandson, Zachary Mire of Shreveport, LA. He also has one surviving sister, Eola Couvillon Dupont.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Father Pike Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held prior to services at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel.
Pallbearers will be Alan Couvillon, Merel Waters, Randy Clinton and Zachary Mire.
