Danny was born on December 26, 1954 to Harvey Gratis & Lettie Grace Lewis McKinnon in El Dorado, AR. After graduating from Junction City High School, Danny attended the University of Arkansas where he obtained a degree in finance. Danny went on to work for LLLL Construction for 33 years.
On November 17, 1989 Danny married the love of his life, Lynn Robinson McKinnon. Together they raised Wesley and Mary Michal, and Danny cherished his time with his son, Sage. Danny’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Danny was steadfast and kind, a man of few words who loved his family fiercely. During his final hard years his faith in the Lord never wavered.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Sue McKinnon Carter; brothers, Bob McKinnon, Bruce McKinnon, Morris McKinnon, and Thomas McKinnon. He is survived by his wife, Lynn; sons, Wesley Gray and Sage McKinnon; and daughter and son-in-law, Mary Michal and Jason Fleniken; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Paizley and Tate Fleniken; sister, Billie Jean Loftin of Shreveport, LA; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Sue McKinnon of Shreveport, LA; sister-in-law, Frances McKinnon of Fayetteville, AR; numerous much loved nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Wayne Barrett of Ruston, LA.
Visitation will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home in Haughton, LA at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 16, 2022. The memorial service will immediately follow at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
