Danny "Dan" Carl Baird

Shreveport, LA – Danny “Dan” Carl Baird went to be with the Lord on February 23, 2018 at the age of 73 after a brief illness. Dan was born in Marlow, OK on May 21, 1944. He graduated from Kermit High School and attended Texas Tech University. Dan was a member of the baseball team and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. He was a financial planner and co-founded Provident Investments in Shreveport. Dan loved to bass fish and spend time at his camp on Toledo Bend.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, William Albert “Bob” Baird. He is survived by his mother, Alma B. Baird; wife, Gerry Baird; children, Christy Baird McSpedden and husband Randy, Danna Baird Spires and husband Dennis, Jill Williams and husband Monte, Jodie Suire and husband Mike and Kyle Darby; grandchildren, Hannah, Jeffrey, Paylor, Cohen, Lauren, Dustin, Emily, Heather, Jordan, Darby, Kylie Kay, Tyler, Nicole and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, February 27th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Celebration Church, 8645 Business Park Drive in Shreveport. Services celebrating the life of Dan Baird will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28th at Celebration Church, where he was very active and served as an usher and Bible Study Leader. Pastor David Daniel will be officiating.

The family would like to thank his doctors, ICU nurses, and the nurses on the 8th floor tower at Willis Knighton Pierremont for their special care.

Memorial donations can be made to the Building Fund of Celebration Church or to the Toys for Tots fundraiser through Azalea Estates Assisted Living that his mother, Alma Baird, organizes each year.
