

The family will be receiving guests on Friday, August 15, 2014, between the hours of 6-8 pm at Hill Crest Funeral Home. Memorial services for Deborah Kay Taft, 57, of Plain Dealing Louisiana will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Sephanie Kaye Arant conducting.
Debbi was born in Henderson, Texas on August 19, 1956, to parents, Buford Delano Rape and Mary Rebecca Walker and passed away peacefully while holding the hands of her daughter, Sephanie and son-in-law, Tim in Haughton, Louisiana on Saturday, August 9, 2014.
She was a retired nurse after 35 years of dedication to her patients. After retiring she had started Kozy Kennels to board cats and dogs, she had an amazing love for all animals. Debbi loved sitting on her back porch looking at her yard and all of her beautiful flowers. Debbi was a fun-loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Myrtle Ivy Dunn and Clyde Vivian Dunn; and a half-brother, Ronald Scott Frasier. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sephanie Kaye Arant and husband Tim, and Lacie Jay Taft; grandsons, Jesse Delano Arant and Raylen Kane Hale; granddaughters Rylee Alayna Hogg and Allie Kaye Williams; step-mother, Patricia Rape; half-brother, Tommy Rape; step-brothers, Stephen and Mark Frasier; half-sister, Glinda Teakell and husband Paul; step-sister, Lynn Frasier; niece, Morgan Rae Teakell; and nephews, Thomas Paul Teakell and Trey Frasier.
