A memorial service will be held for Della Gullette on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Rev. Pat Walker will be officiating the service. Ms. Gullette went to be with the Lord on June 5, 2014 after a eight month battle with lung cancer. She was a lovely woman who loved her Lord. She loved the outdoors. She loved children and animals. She enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, dancing, swimming, spending time at the beach and dolphin watching, helping all in need, spending time with her three dogs (maddie, madea, and biscuit), and spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mateen Reynolds Gullette, father, William Irvin Gullette, daughter, Mae Dean Maddox, son, Bruce Lee Maddox, father of her children, Amos Maddox Sr., brothers, William Jackson, Ronald Irvin and Billy Ray Gullette, sister, Barbara Nell Garcia and grandson Landen Christopher Shaw.
Della is survived by her son, Amos Maddox, Jr. and daughter, Molly Maddox Netterville and husband Charles. She is also survived by her sisters, Mae Dean Schew, Hattie White, Linda Gullette and Elaine Sharpley; brothers, Austin, Donald and Clifford Gullette; grandchildren, Erica Bristow, Micakayla Maddox, Cheyenne McDonald, Shalene and Gracie Netterville, Matthew Shaw, Clint Delaune, Kelsy Baker, Morgan McDonald, Justin, Destiny, Victoria Maddox and Kayla Kenly; and great grandchildren, MacKenzie and Kaleigh Luye, Wyatte and Lycan Jannise, and Grayson Shaw; many nieces, great nieces, nephews, and great nephews.
The family would like to extend a gracious thank you to Southern Care Hospice, Feist-Weiller Cancer Center, and The American Cancer Society. Her children wish to to thank their Aunts Linda Gullette and Elaine Sharpley for all they did during their mom's last days.
