Doreen Muriel Blair

Doreen met the love of her life, Jimmie Marvin Blair of New Baden, Texas while he was stationed in England with the United States Air Force. They were married in Harrow, England on September 19, 1959. They moved to Bossier City, Louisiana, where she resided until just recently. She became a U.S. citizen on December 6, 1978.

Doreen loved to travel and had many opportunities throughout the U.S. and abroad through the U.S. Air Force and with the British Wives Association.

Doreen never met a stranger and truly loved people, especially children. She loved the ocean, and camping, and trips with the youth group of Shady Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member since 1967.

Doreen is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Jessica Knapp of England; husband of 45 years, Jim Blair; sister, Rose Cogswell of San Antonio, Texas; and sister, Sheila Watson of England.

Doreen is survived by son, David and wife Pamela Blair of Midlothian, Texas; granddaughter, Heather and husband Matthew Pahl; and great granddaughter, Abigail; grandson, Colin Blair; granddaughter, Hannah Blair; brother, Ivor Knapp of England; sister, Jean James of England; sister, Margaret and husband Len Jordan of England; siste,r Marion and husband Alan Moon of England; and sister-in-law, Joyce Warren of Montgomery, Texas; as well as “extended family”: Abbi, Adam, and Austin Espe, and the Hargis children.

She was very loved and will be dearly missed.
